Decide if you will use a pencil and paper or computer - whichever will allow your ideas to flow the best!

Try to avoid all distractions.

Keep your notes & diagrams nearby for reference.

Leave at least a line between each line you write for the revising and editing.

Don't take time to look up words in a dictionary at this point - come back later.
